Peer Review
Maffei has unmatched expertise in seismic peer review and plan review. The firm has directed the seismic peer review and plan review of both new design and retrofit of more than 130 buildings, over 60 of them high-rise buildings. Most of these buildings are designed using a non-prescriptive seismic design approach and a nonlinear response history analysis. We have performed seismic peer reviews of buildings designed using performance-based seismic design for the cities of San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, San Diego, Santa Monica, Seattle, Bellevue, and Salt Lake City.
