Andreas has 23 years of experience in research and consulting focused on advanced analysis, state-of-the-art design, and structural testing. He has performed seismic nonlinear response-history analysis for San Francisco’s DeYoung Museum, UCSF’s Health Sciences towers, and numerous existing buildings. He developed soil-structure interaction models for the new SFO air traffic control tower, including the effect of piles on earthquake shaking and soil response. Andreas headed an industry-leading shake-table testing program for unanchored rooftop solar arrays, and he performed nonlinear wind response history analyses using pressure data from wind tunnel tests. He developed a software framework (OpenFresco) allowing experimental test specimens to interact with analytical models in real-time. He also co-developed OpenSeesNavigator, a graphical user interface for the OpenSees structural analysis software. He provides technical assistance to structural testing laboratories in Asia, Europe, and North America.
