Marty joined Maffei Structural Engineering in 2020 after graduating with an MS in structural engineering from UC Berkeley, where he also completed his undergraduate degree. Since joining MSE, he has worked on the seismic evaluation and retrofit of existing buildings, peer review of high rises, and evaluation of existing roofs to support solar panel arrays. As a student, he researched design of base isolation systems and seismic design of concrete structures, and he now enjoys the challenge of incorporating his research findings into practice.
